Overview

The Voicemail-to-Transcription (VM2T) service from Networks by Plouffe streamlines voicemail management by automatically transcribing messages and sending the text directly to your email inbox. Voicemails received at vmtotext@allworx-voicemail.com are processed by our secure transcription engine, powered by Whisper AI, and the resulting text is emailed back to the original sender.

How it works

1. A voicemail with a WAV attachment is sent to vmtotext@allworx-voicemail.com.
2. The VM2T system extracts and transcribes the audio using Whisper.
3. The transcribed text is returned to the original sender’s email (Reply-To).

Limitations

We would rather set accurate expectations up front than over-promise. The following conditions can affect transcription results.

• AT&T restriction — email-to-text no longer supported by AT&T; use direct email delivery.
• Audio quality — background noise or low volume can reduce accuracy.
• WAV only — non-WAV formats will be ignored.
• Large files — extended recordings may exceed processing time limits.
• Language variations — heavy accents or mixed languages can affect results.
• Whisper limitations — struggles with overlapping voices or technical jargon.
